What We Offer
Programs and agreements have been established for students to earn a Bachelor's or Master's degree at a Columbia State campus, online, or by easily transferring to a 4-year institution. There are several options to choose from:
Transfer Information
-
Students entering a community college in Tennessee who select a major within the Tennessee Transfer Pathways, complete required courses and earn an associate's degree can transition seamlessly as a junior to any Tennessee public university, or at participating Tennessee independent colleges and universities. All earned credit hours will apply toward a bachelor's degree in the same discipline.
-
Officially referred to as "transfer guides", Columbia State has forged relationships with state and private institutions where a Bachelor's degree can be started at Columbia State, and finished at the participating university. This assures a seamless transfer, and prevents wasted credit hours that may not transfer.
-
This is similar to the Program to Program transfer guides, but with a major difference -- all or most courses are taught at a Columbia State campus. These include the popular 2+2 degree programs.
-
Columbia State along with other Tennessee Board of Regents institutions, participates in online course offerings through TN eCampus. The online education offered through TN eCampus mirrors the same education offered at the physical locations.
-
Students who may not wish to seek a degree at Columbia State can still take courses at one of our campuses or online, and many of those courses will transfer to other colleges or universities.
-
Columbia State has relationships with several in- and out-of-state four-year colleges and universities you can transfer to. Columbia State is not holding in-person meetings and fairs for Spring 2021, but several university virtual meetings are available for students to learn more about transferring.
Private schools member of TICUA have fully accepted pathways in which all courses transfer with equivalency. A list of schools and Pathways are available at TICUA Pathways.
College transfer students can take the freshman and sophomore-level courses at Columbia State to earn their Associate's degree. Then transfer the courses to a four-year institution to complete their junior and senior years to earn their Bachelor's degree.
Students should follow the transfer guide designed specifically for the major and the institution in which they intend to enroll.
Do you have questions about which classes you should take at Columbia State? Contact your Advisor! Students can find their assigned advisor by clicking "My Advisor" on the Student tab in ChargerNet.
