Pryor Art Gallery To Host Ralph McDonald: Santa Claus is Coming to Muletown Exhibition
Columbia State Community College’s Pryor Art Gallery will host Ralph McDonald: Santa Claus is Coming to Muletown exhibition. The exhibition will be open to the public through December 13.
McDonald, a Tennessee artist well-known for his wildlife illustrations and prints, also depicts Santa in the joy of the season. McDonald’s favorite artists are Haddon Sundblom, Norman Rockwell and John Singer Sargeant. Sundblom’s influences can especially be seen in McDonald’s paintings.
“Step into a festive world inspired by Ralph McDonald,” said Gabriel Trius, Columbia State Pryor Art Gallery curator. “This collection of Santa Claus paintings captures the warmth and joy of Christmas, reminding us of the magic found in simple moments of giving and togetherness.”
Part of the exhibition will include Jolly Jingle Snap, a fun activity for families, on Sat., Nov. 9, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Waymon L. Hickman Building on the Columbia Campus. The event is free, but registration is requested. Sign up: https://bit.ly/jollyjinglesnap.
