Chargers Back in Action at Home Friday and Saturday
Fans to get First Look at Newly Renovated Floor
(COLUMBIA, Tenn. - Jan. 24, 2018) - - - The Columbia State Community College Chargers and Lady Chargers will play back-to-back games Friday, Jan. 26 and Saturday, Jan. 27 in the Webster Athletic Center.
Chargers fans will see the teams in action for the first time on the recently renovated floor, which has been updated to reflect the athletic department's new branding.
On Friday night, the men's basketball team will tip off at 5:30 p.m. against Chattanooga State. The Chargers return to the court on Saturday at 2 p.m. to face-off against Cleveland State. Charger fans should note that the men's basketball games will precede the women's games for the remainder of the season.
"Our players and coaches are excited to get the second half of the season started and to show off our new floor," said Winston Neal, Columbia State men's basketball head coach. "We would like to thank everyone involved in the floor project, including Coach Littrell and the Columbia State facilities staff, for all their hard work getting the floor redone and ready for this weekend's games."
The Lady Chargers will face Chattanooga State on Friday at 7:30 p.m. immediately following the men's game. The women's team will return to the court on Saturday at 4 p.m. to tip off against Cleveland State.
"The Lady Chargers are extremely excited to be back in action this weekend," said Bridget Goodnight, Columbia State women's basketball head coach. "The players have shown great patience during a lengthy time off and are ready to face two conference opponents. We look forward to having the home crowd support."
General Admission is $5. Children 10 and under are $2. Admission for Columbia State students is free with student ID.
The Webster Athletic Center is located on the Columbia Campus at 1665 Hampshire Pike.
