Columbia State Department of Music Presents Its Fall Concert
(COLUMBIA, Tenn. - Nov. 8, 2017) - - - Columbia State Community College's Department of Music will present its fall concert on Nov. 30 at 1 p.m. in the Ledbetter Auditorium.
The program will include instrumental and choral selections performed by Columbia State students, featuring the Columbia State Choir under the direction of Emily Gaskill, associate professor of music. Dr. Mark Lee, professor of music, will lead his Instrumental Performance Ensemble in classical music selections for guitar and wind instruments.
"We have a small choir this year, but we have a big sound," Gaskill said. "Between the choral and instrumental pieces we have prepared this year, there will be something appealing to everyone."
Scott Burt, Columbia State adjunct professor, will accompany Columbia State's choir with a variety of seasonal music including "Carol of the Bells" and a "We Come to Sing This Holiday." The choir will close the program with a song that will also be performed at graduation, titled "And Wherever You Go."
The concert is free and open to the public. The Ledbetter Auditorium is in the Frank G. Clement Building on the Columbia Campus, located at 1665 Hampshire Pike.
