Crystal Keeton Spotlight
Crystal Keeton, Columbia State learning center specialist at the Lawrence Campus, has been with the college since 2005. Keeton is responsible for providing support for students in testing, enrollment services, advising and assisting community patrons.
"Crystal is a fantastic employee," said Matt Mclean, Lawrence Campus site coordinator. "She was instrumental in making my transition into my new position as smooth as possible. Crystal is a caring, honest, dependable, hardworking and energetic whirlwind of productivity. She is an asset to Columbia State and the Lawrenceburg community. I am glad to have her on my team."
Keeton, a Lawrenceburg, Tennessee native, is a Columbia State alumnae. She earned her associate of science degree in business 2000. She explained that her experiences as a student and a student worker were positive - Keeton strives to provide quality customer service to students to add to the positive, welcoming atmosphere that Columbia State is known for.
"Columbia State is a place of opportunity," Keeton said. "This institution provides an avenue for students to obtain a college degree. Columbia State offers a unique college experience, I am thankful to be a part of that and to be in an atmosphere where I can learn more and more every day."
Prior to working as the learning center specialist, Keeton worked as a secretary in the Columbia State Foundation office for eight years following her career in the banking and insurance industries.
Keeton said that her favorite project that she has worked on at Columbia State is the Christmas Angel Tree project that she helps coordinate through the Lawrenceburg Parks and Recreation Department.
Keeton currently resides in Ethridge, Tennessee with her husband, Nathan, and their son Brayden. When she isn't at Columbia State, Keeton enjoys watching her son play baseball and basketball and attending sporting events at her alma mater, Summertown High School.
