Columbia State Foundation Announces First Recipient of Dr. William B. Sutter Scholarship

(COLUMBIA, Tenn. - Nov. 3, 2015) - - - The Columbia State Community College Foundation has announced sophomore radiologic technology major Amanda Calahan as the first recipient of the Dr. William B. Sutter Endowed Scholarship.

"It is an honor to receive the first ever Dr. William B. Sutter Memorial Scholarship," said Calahan, a Culleoka resident. "Through the generosity of many people, Dr. Sutter's involvement with radiography education at Columbia State will continue for years to come."

The Dr. William B. Sutter Endowed Scholarship was established through the Columbia State Foundation by the Maury Regional Health Care Foundation, with support from physicians, family and friends, to honor Dr. Sutter's work and legacy as a highly respected radiologist.

Sutter valued education and was active in the radiologic technology program at Columbia State and in the community.

Dr. Janet F. Smith, Columbia State president; Dr. Kae Fleming, dean of health sciences; and Bethany Lay, Columbia State's executive for advancement and the foundation's executive director joined together to thank Maury Regional Health Care Foundation and Edie Sutter for providing this opportunity for radiology students.
