Workforce Development Announces October Courses

(COLUMBIA, Tenn. - Sept. 29, 2014) - - - Columbia State Community College's Center for Workforce Development is offering paralegal and leadership courses during the month of October.

The "Paralegal Career Advancement Certificate" course trains students to learn the skills needed to become a paralegal. Learn how to interview witnesses, investigate complex fact patterns, research the law, prepare legal documents, and assist in preparing cases for courtroom litigation. The six-week course takes place Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 - 9 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Oct. 14 through Nov. 22.

"Essentials of Leadership" is a course in which students learn to evaluate the use of important leadership behaviors and identify leadership strengths and areas for development. Learn how to assess communication skills and improve skills you want to develop further. The class takes place Oct. 15 from 8:30 a.m. - noon.

Both of these courses will take place on the Columbia Campus, located at 1665 Hampshire Pike.
