Workforce Development Offers ROCE Classes In September

(COLUMBIA, Tenn. - Sept. 4, 2013) - - - Columbia State Community College's Center for Workforce Development is offering a variety of programs through the Regents Online Continuing Education program. With the convenience of online training, courses can be taken during the day or evening to fit any schedule.
ROCE programs provide professional training and development for individuals who need to prepare for licensing exams and fulfill training requirements from their organizations. Individuals who enroll in these courses can earn continuing education units for certification and/or recertification to maintain credentials in a specified field of work or study.
The Early Childhood course is designed for child care providers working in a licensed child-care center who wish to pursue a career in early childhood education. This course provides students with an overview of the signs of misbehavior in an early childhood setting and ways to communicate positive messages, empower the child, set effective classroom limits, and use effective guidance techniques for successful interactions in today's social climate. This online class begins on Sept. 9 and extends through Oct. 21.
The Human Resources Management course provides students with a broad overview of human resource functions in the workplace. These functions include both operational and strategic human resources management, workforce planning, recruitment, selection, employment, and legal framework and management of equal employment, retention, training and development, compensation, labor relations, and risk management. This online class begins Sept. 16 and extends through Dec. 31.
