Singer-songwriter Leslie Satcher will perform Thursday, September 16 at 7 p.m. in the Cherry Theater on the Columbia Campus. Satcher is recognized both as an active performer as well as songwriter. The event is sponsored by Columbia State Community College's Lyceum Committee and is free and open to the public. This talented artist plans to conduct an informal presentation with Columbia State students earlier in the day.

Satcher has written many hit songs including Martina McBride's When God Fearin' Women Get the Blues. Satcher's most recent cuts include another McBride song For These Times (which appears on Martina McBride's Greatest Hits Record and top 10 chart topper) and Troubador from George Strait's latest CD (which received six Grammy Award nominations and one win credited to Satcher). Over her career, Satcher has also written songs recorded by Reba McEntire, Vince Gill, Sara Evans, Lee Ann Womack, Pam Tillis and Willie Nelson. Currently, her focus is on her second album as well as continuing to pen songs for artists.
