PRYOR GALLERY FEATURES LOCAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS IN APRIL

Open House to be Held on Tuesday, April 27

Columbia State Community College is hosting the art work of local elementary school students during April. The exhibit, currently on display, is free to the public.

"Once again, elementary month in the Pryor Gallery is one big smile," said Lucy Kuykendall, curator and director of Columbia State's Pryor Art Gallery. "It is obvious that the teachers plan projects that direct students in their creative learning skills. We have talented teachers and students on display."

The exhibit consists of a variety different mediums including but not limited to clay sculptures, yarn art, collage, pastels, watercolor, and beaded jewelry.

Schools included in the exhibit are Zion Christian Academy, Agathos School of Columbia, Marvin Wright Elementary School, Mt. Pleasant Elementary and Middle Schools, Riverside Elementary School, Santa Fe Unit School, Spring Hill Elementary School, and J.E. Woodard Elementary School.

There will be an open house held on Tuesday, April 27 at Pryor Art Gallery from 5 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.

The Pryor Art Gallery is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m., and on Friday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. The gallery is also open on weekends during special events. Both the exhibit and the open house are free and open to the public.
