(COLUMBIA, Tenn. - Sept. 17, 2012) - - - Celebrating an odd golden anniversary is the subject of Columbia State Community College's Lyceum Committee lecture on Thursday, Sept. 20 at 6 p.m. in room 120 of the Waymon L. Hickman building on the Columbia Campus. Mick Jagger and Keith Richards have been 'Liking It' with the Rolling Stones for fifty years.
It's arguably the world's best rock and roll band," said Stuart Lenig, Ph.D., professor of drama, at Columbia State. "They're one of the only bands that have survived with much the same style that they burst onto the scene with 50 years ago," he continued.
James Senefeld, Ph.D., will join Lenig for the look back at the Stones. The lecture is free and open to the public.
