Night at the Library brings some popular characters from present-day children's stories beyond the pages of the storybook. Characters such as Fancy Nancy, Eloise, Willy Wonka, Cat in the Hat, The Hardy Boys and many more will entertain the entire family with laughter, music and dance.

"Children are encouraged to come dressed in costume as their favorite character," said Mary McLuen, staff member at Columbia State's Williamson County Campus. "They can sit up front next to the stage and there will be opportunities for them to participate during the program. It's really a family environment." Parents are encouraged to bring a camera to take photos of their children with their favorite characters after the performance.

"The dessert theater gives audiences a different atmosphere-it's very entertaining," said McLuen. "It's just a really neat experience."

Characters in the musical are portrayed by Columbia State's Commercial Entertainment students. "These students are very talented and they've worked really hard," said McLuen. "The students are involved in many aspects of putting together the show."

Advanced purchase of tickets is recommended, especially for the Dessert Theater performance, featuring Freddie's homemade gourmet desserts. All funds will go towards scholarships for students in Columbia State's Commercial Entertainment program.
