HOLBERT IS C-STATE ALUMNA IN THE SPOTLIGHT
Clifton Campus November "Alumni in the Spotlight"
(COLUMBIA, Tenn. - Nov. 15, 2011) - - - Columbia State Community College is pleased to feature Melanie Holbert as the Columbia State Clifton Campus November "Alumni in the Spotlight". Holbert, a 2001 Columbia State graduate, currently serves as an administrator for the Decatur County Election Commission. Holbert received her general transfer associate degree from Columbia State by attending classes at the Clifton Campus.
"It was a great asset to have the Clifton Campus so close to my home in Decatur County," said Holbert. "I was able to take classes that accommodated my lifestyle. I was working during the day and attending classes at night."
Her transfer degree is a part of Columbia State's 2+2 program which allowed her to obtain her elementary education degree at the Clifton campus. Before changing career paths in 2009, Holbert taught elementary school in Decatur County.
Holbert said the most rewarding aspect of her job as Election Commission Administrator is to hold a fair and honest election.
"I enjoy meeting and assisting people in the county and enjoy the excitement an election brings," said Holbert.
Holbert enjoyed her experience at Columbia State, as well as the atmosphere at the Clifton Campus.
"The faculty and staff strived to help me in every aspect of my education," said Holbert. "I would advise anyone planning to go to a community college to check out Columbia State."
