Concert to Feature More Than 70 Performers

Columbia State Community College presents Christmas Pops, the third show in the 2009-2010 First Farmers and Merchants Bank Performance Series on Tuesday, December 8 at 7 p.m. in the Cherry Theater. The concert will feature performances from local artist Paul Plant along with more than 70 performers, the Bradley Brass Band, and the Nashville Pipes and Drums.

"This is one show you won't want to miss," said Sandra Thurston, of Columbia State's office of Evening and Community Services. "It's a great way to kick off the holiday season."

For more than 20 years, Plant has collaborated with the Lawrence County Oratorio Society to bring Christmas Pops to local audiences. "I actually saw it a few years ago at Crockett Theater in Lawrenceburg-it's an exciting show for all ages," said Thurston.

The cost of tickets for the show is $15 or $10 for students. Tickets may be purchased between 12 p.m. and 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, or between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Friday at Columbia State's ticket office.

The ticket office, which is located in the Waymon L. Hickman building, will also be open one hour prior to the performance. Tickets may also be charged by phone by calling (931) 540-2879 during ticket office hours. Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover are accepted.
