Award Winning Family of Irish Dancers and Fiddlers Step on to the Cherry Theater Stage

(Columbia, Tenn. - - November 23, 2010) - - - The Hunt Family will perform at Columbia State Community College on Thursday, December 9 at 7 p.m. as part of the First Farmers & Merchants Bank 2010-2011 Performance Series presented by Columbia State. The family's dynamic show incorporates a wide variety of musical genres, ranging from traditional Irish and Celtic tunes to bluegrass, country, rock, inspirational and holiday popular songs, as well as a diverse repertoire of original compositions.

"The Hunt Family holiday performance will be a great way to begin celebrating the season with a variety of music, dancing, and singing," said Monteia Moore, director of evening and community services. "This is a performance that everyone is sure to enjoy."

The Hunt Family is an award-winning family of Irish step dancers and champion fiddlers. Sandy and Clint Hunt are the parents of seven children, ranging in age from 12 to 21 (JJ, Justin, Jordan, Jonathan, Josh, Jenni and Jessi). The Hunts captivate audiences with their vibrant step dancing, tight vocal harmonies and diverse musical talents. In addition to their mastery of the fiddle, the Hunts also play guitar, bass, drums, keys, mandolin and percussion.

The Hunt Family has performed from Scotland to Ireland to Canada and all over the United States. They have opened for the Virginia Symphony and performed for Queen Elizabeth during her most recent visit to the United States. They have played at performing arts centers, festivals and schools across the country.

The Hunts have produced and recorded five CDs: Table for Two, Dance in the Field, Be Thou My Vision, Christmas with the Hunts and Hearts Held High; they have authored and published 101 Sizzling Tips for Excellence on the Violin and Fiddle Book; and they have produced The Hunt Family DVD.
