PRISM would like to invite students, staff, faculty to attend Columbia State’s Safe Zone Training. The goal of this training is to educate as well as create and sustain a welcoming and inclusive environment for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and plus (LGBT+) campus community.
This interactive session is conducted by Columbia State faculty and staff and includes activities and discussion around:
- The importance of supporting the LGBT+ student population
- Inclusive language
- Dispelling stereotypes
- How to respond to homophobic incidents
- What it means to be an ally
- Resources
- And much more!
Upon completion of this Safe Zone Training, participants can be certified to become a Safe Zone Ally. Attendance for this training is voluntary. The only qualifications necessary to become a Safe Zone Ally is to be open to learning and committed to further understanding the experiences of LGBT+ individuals within the Columbia State campus community.

Faculty and staff: Friday, Feb. 24 at 11 a.m.
