Columbia State Fishing Club
On Oct. 22, 2021, the Columbia State Fishing team won 2nd place at the ABU Garcia College Fishing tournament. The win earned $1000 for the fishing club and qualifies them for the National College Tournament in Oklahoma. Read Columbia State's Fishing Team Places 2nd for more information.
Columbia State has re-started the Fishing Club for Fall 2020. In previous years, we’ve had fisherman participate in the Fishing League Worldwide (FLW) Collegiate Fishing Southeastern Conference along with nearby bass fishing competitions in Tennessee, Alabama, and Kentucky, placing within the top 50 teams in the nation.
Things to consider:
- You must be enrolled at one of our five Columbia State campuses.
- You will need to own or have access to a boat and fishing equipment.
- Must be able to tow or have someone tow the boat to competitions.
- Fishing Teams are made up of two participants.
- College can assist with funding travel to get the group started.
- Jerseys & caps will be provided, but would have to be bought through fundraising, donations or purchased by the student.
- Fishing Tournament starts October 2020 through May 2021
